Double Duty

No. of Players: 2+
Type of Game: spoken
What you need: nothing

Goal

To guess words that form two or more expressions.

How to play

The gamemaster thinks of two or three words or phrases that have a single word in common, one that either appears at the beginning or the end of these words. He then asks the other players to guess this common word by telling them the other words. The player who correctly guesses the common word becomes the gamemaster for the next round. But if no player guesses correctly, the gamemaster can give additional hints for this word until a player does guess correctly.

Example

Arturo: What word can be added before scan, nap and burglar to make three words or phrases?
Bonnie: Cat. That makes cat scan, cat nap and cat burglar. How about carpet, alert and ink?
Chrissy: Red, as in red carpet, red alert and red ink. Here are another three: force, line and mail.
Dave: Air force, airline, airmail. How about a word after baby, spring and cold?
Emmy: Can you give us a hint?
Dave: "Rub-a-dub-dub, three men in a tub..."
Bonnie: Shower! Baby shower, spring shower and cold shower!

And so on.
