Rhyme Time

No. of Players: 2+
Type of Game: spoken
What you need: nothing

Goal

To think of sentences which rhyme with the preceding one.

How to play

Players sit in a circle. The first player says a sentence out loud, and the second player must say a different sentence that rhymes with it. The next player does the same and so on. Any player who cannot think of a suitable sentence must drop out. Rhyming words cannot be repeated. By agreement, players can also be required to think of sentences which flow more or less logically from the preceding one. In which case, any player who contributes a non sequitur must also drop out. The last player left is the winner and gets to say the first sentence in the next round. The winner of the most rounds is declared the overall champion.

Example

Abagail: He knew how to bop.
Bret: That's why he reached the top.
Chad: His competitors closed up shop.
Abagail: He would never drop.
Bret: And he wouldn't flop.
Chad: He could not stop.
Abagail: He sounded tastier than a pork chop.
Bret: But he was better than Iggy Pop.
Chad: His music always made me hop.
Abagail: I'm going to grab a mop.
Chad: That doesn't really follow the entire sequence well. I say you're out, Abagail.
Bret: Me too, sorry. Ok, here's the next sentence: He didn't need a prop.
Chad: Ah.... um... I can't think of anything. Bret, you win!
Bret: Ok, here's the first sentence: Do you have a ball?
Chad: To throw at the wall?
Abagail: I bought one at the mall.
Bret: Did you find it in a stall?
Chad: No, she bought it from Charles de Gaulle.

And so on.
