Fun Facts About Bond Girls

  • Jill St. John was the first American Bond girl. She played the intelligent, yet witty, diamond smuggler Tiffany Case in Diamonds Are Forever (1971). She reportedly has an IQ of 162, placing her in the genius category.
  • Jane Seymour was 21 years old when she played a psychic named Solitaire in Live and Let Die (1973), making her one of the youngest Bond girls ever.
  • Maud Adams is the only woman to play two different Bond girls: Andrea Anders in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) and the title character in Octopussy (1983).
  • When Barbara Bach, played Agent Triple X in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), she brought a new era of independent and skilled Bond girls to the screen. She later recommended actress Grace Jones to producers to play a Bond girl.

There have been two Bond Girls who were actually older than 007 himself. The first was 39 year old Honor Blackman who played Pussy Galore in Goldfinger in 1964. At that time James Bond was played by Sean Connery, who was five years her junior.

The second was Monica Bellucci, who played Lucia Sciarra in the more recent Spectre. She was 50 to Daniel Craig's more youthful 47. Incidently, the Italian beauty also holds the title of being the oldest Bond girl ever to be cast in the film series.
