Did you know?

Health Ledger famously isolated himself in a London hotel room for six weeks to prepare for his role as the Joker. Some of the things he did there included keeping a journal filled with notes, comic clippings and disturbing images. This was to help him better understand the character's psyche and motivations. From there he developed the unique voice, chilling laugh and set of mannerisms which would differ significantly from Jack Nicholson's previous portrayal. Ledger also contributed to the character's overall look and appearance, which he described as a cross between punk rocker Sid Vicious and the psychotic behavior of Malcolm McDowell's character in A Clockwork Orange (1971). Veteran actor Michael Caine (Alfred) said he was both terrified and floored at Ledger's transformation, noting how his performance inspired the rest of the cast to raise their game.

These terms include actor, character, and director names; other people, places, and things encountered in the storyline; themes, ideas, and subject matter handled in the movie — basically, anything that seems reasonable.
