The opening action scene, featuring Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity), required six months of martial arts training and was shot in four days. Moss performed her own wire stunts throughout the film, even though she twisted her ankle while shooting one of her scenes. She chose not to tell anyone until after filming was complete, because she was afraid she'd be replaced with another actress.
