In one scene Jack Nicholson (Buddy) takes out a golf club and baseball bat from the backseat of his car. He weighs them in his hands as if he is making a choice. He chooses the baseball bat, then uses it to smash the window of another car that was blocking him in. This scene is a meta-reference to a real-life incident involving Nicholson. In 1994 Nicholson was cited for smashing a man's car windshield with a 2-iron club after that man cut him off in traffic. After apologizing and reaching a reported $500,000 settlement, the criminal charges of vandalism and assault were dropped.
