This film was motivational for Chris Pratt to get into shape. When he initially auditioned for the role of Scott Hatteberg, he was told he was too heavy to play the professional baseball player. But Pratt was determined. So while auditions continued , he began exercising to lose weight. Eventually Pratt got into good enough shape to take a picture of himself and send it to his agent. Luckily the filmmakers had not yet cast the part and it was given to him.
