Did you know?

Daniel Day-Lewis was Steven Spielberg's preferred choice to play the historical Abraham Lincoln from the early stages of the project. After Day-Lewis' initial refusal in 2003, Spielberg offered the role to Liam Neeson who was cast in January 2005. Neeson spent years preparing for the role, only to suddenly drop out in 2010 for a couple of reasons. First, the script changed from a comprehensive biopic to focus instead on the final months of Lincoln's life and the push for the 13th Amendment. Second, during a table read with other cast members, Neeson had a "thunderbolt moment." He suddenly felt he was "past his sell-by date."

Spielberg offered the role again to Day-Lewis. But this time with the help of Leonardo DiCaprio who was instrumental in convincing him to take the part. Day-Lewis' performance earned him his third Oscar win for Best Actor, making him the first actor to achieve this record. His two other wins were for My Left Foot (1989) and There Will Be Blood (2007).

These terms include actor, character, and director names; other people, places, and things encountered in the storyline; themes, ideas, and subject matter handled in the movie — basically, anything that seems reasonable.
