- Despite all the beaches, Antigua has no rivers or freshwater lakes. The country relies on a combination of desalination plants and rainwater catchment systems to secure its freshwater supply.
- St. John’s, the capital of Antigua and Barbuda, has only 22,000 residents, making it the least populous capital city in the entire Americas.
- The national fruit is the exceptionally sweet Antigua Black pineapple. It's a source of national pride that even appears on the country's coat of arms.
- The national instrument is the steel drum. It's such a valued part of the culture that virtually all children will learn how to play it from an early age.
