- Argentina is home to the southernmost city in the world. Residents of Ushua joke that it's "el fin del mundo" (translated: the end of the world).
- The Avenida 9 de Julio in Buenos Aires is widely considered the world's widest avenue. It is about 150 yards at its widest, has 16 lanes of traffic, and takes several minutes to cross on foot due to multiple traffic light cycles.
- Argentinians consume more red meat per capita than almost anyone else. They eat about 120 pounds of beef per person per year.
- The Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina's Los Glaciares National Park is one of the few advancing glaciers in the world. It regularly erupts with massive explosions of ice.
- Buenos Aires is often called "the therapy capital of the world" due to its high concentration of psychologists. By the numbers: the city employs 1,280 psychologists per 100,000 people — the highest in the world.
