- Bolivia is the only country in the world with two official capitals: Sucre is the consitutional capital and is home to the Supreme Court, while La Paz is the administrative capital which houses the President, the Congress, and its ministries.
- Bolivia maintains a navy despite being a landlocked nation. Every March they celebrate the Day of the Sea, hoping to regain sea access after they lost its coastline to Chile in 1879. While they wait, the navy will continue to patrol Lake Titicaca.
- La Paz's cable-car system is the longest and highest urban cable-car network in the world.
