Word Search Puzzle

Here's a word search on the country of Iceland. The puzzle grid hides 20 words and phrasesAluminium, Bird Cliff, Bjork, Fishing, Geothermal,
Geysers, Ice Cap, Krona, Lava Tubes, Leif Erikson,
Nordic, Puffin, Sagas, Smelting, Smoked Lamb,
Viking, Whale Hunt, Yule Lads, Glacier, Handball
associated with Iceland. But there's a twist. Only 18 of these 20 words are actually listed. So you're on your own to find the 2 unlisted ones. A full solution is provided if you get stuck.

By the way, we designed this puzzle to be easily read. Both the puzzle grid and word list are in large 17-point font size. And the puzzle grid, which is 22×20 letters, spans the entire width of the page. This way you won't have to squint.

Fun Facts About Iceland

  • There are no mosquitoes in Iceland. Scientists aren't 100% sure why. But they think it is due to a lack of suitable stagnant water, and Iceland's unique freeze-thaw climate which disrupts the life-cycles of certain insects.
  • Nearly 100% of Iceland's electricity comes from renewables, primarily hydropower (around 75%) and geothermal (around 25%).
  • There are significantly more sheep than people in Iceland — about 2 to 1. Every September there's a massive nationwide sheep roundup.
  • Polls consistently show more than half of Icelanders believe in, or find it possible, that elves, trolls, and other hidden people exist.
  • Leaving babies in strollers outside cafes or shops is a common, traditional practice in Nordic countries like Iceland due to strong community trust and the cultural belief that fresh air boosts health, immunity, and sleep.
