- Kazakhstan is the world's largest landlocked country and the 9th largest overall. It is bigger than Western Europe, but has a sparse population of just over 20 million, giving it an extremely low population density of just 19 people per square mile.
- The name "Kazakhstan" translates to "Land of the Free Spirits". This names reflects the nomadic heritage of the Kazakh people.
- Modern domesticated apples trace their genetic roots to a wild apple species still growing in the forests of Almaty in Kazakhstan. The name "Almaty" actually means "Father of Apples."
- Kazakhstan has three different time zones and multiple climates within its borders. Tourists traveling through the country can experience everything from scorching deserts to snowy peaks.
- Kazakhstan has a traditional sport often referred to as "polo with a goat". It involves riders competing to grab and carry a headless goat carcass into a goal. It is an intense sport and dates back centuries.
