  • Bethlehem is a Palestinian city located in the West Bank and is regarded as the birthplace of Jesus. Festivities there often include parades, fireworks, and massive Christmas trees in Manger Square.
  • Jericho is incredibly ancient, dating back to 9,000 BC. It is the world's first known permanent settlement with fortified walls.
  • Palestinians are known for their hospitality. It is common for strangers to be invited into homes and offered tea, coffee, or a meal as a warm gesture of welcome.
  • It is widely held that the English word "gauze" is derived from the name of the Palestinian city of Gaza. Historically, Gaza had a thriving textile industry. It is particularly famous for producing lightweight, sheer fabrics.
