Word Search Puzzle

Here's a word search on the country of Russia. The puzzle grid hides 20 words and phrasesAgriculture, Ballet, Borsch, Cathedral, Caviar,
Communism, Embassies, Hockey, Kremlin, Moscow,
Nuclear, President, Siberia, Soviet, Sputnik,
Stalin, Tundra, Vastness, Cold War, Red Square
associated with Russia. But there's a twist. Only 18 of these 20 words are actually listed. So you're on your own to find the 2 unlisted ones. A full solution is provided if you get stuck.

By the way, we designed this puzzle to be easily read. Both the puzzle grid and word list are in large 17-point font size. And the puzzle grid, which is 22×20 letters, spans the entire width of the page. This way you won't have to squint.

Fun Facts About Russia

  • While Russia's mainland is about 55 miles from mainland Alaska, measured from their closest island points, they are just 2.4 miles apart. That makes them close enough to see each other on a clear day despite being separated by the International Date Line.
  • There is a museum in St. Petersburg that has about 60 cats tasked with protecting its priceless art collection from mice and rats. This tradition dates back to the 1740s.
  • Russia has a theater performed entirely by cats. The Moscow Cats Theatre features acrobatic feline performers doing tricks like walking tightropes, jumping through hoops, and doing handstands.
  • Superstitions are taken seriously in Russia. Whistling indoors is thought to "whistle away" your money, while sitting quietly for a moment before leaving on a trip will ensure good luck.
  • In Russia, public seriousness is normal, not rude. Smiling at strangers is reserved for genuine joy or for people you know well.
