Fun Facts About Tuvalu
- Tuvalu is only about 10 square miles. That's less than half the land area of Manhattan's 22.8 square miles.
- Tuvalu's internet domain (.tv) is one of its biggest money-makers. It earns millions of dollars annually by licensing the domain for television and streaming services worldwide.
- There are roughly 100 times the number of registered Tuvalu domains (.tv) in the world as there are actual citizens in the country.
- Tuvalu has the world's smallest capital city by population: there are approximately only 6,000–7,000 residents.
- Tuvalu has no rivers, no mountains, no military, no police SWAT team, and no prison with long-term inmates (these are sent to Fiji). But it does have one airport runway, although it doubles as a social hangout spot where kids play football and people dry laundry.
