- At least six ravens are kept at the Tower of London at all times, due to the superstition that if they leave, the Crown and kingdom will fall. This tradition is linked to King Charles II (1660–1685) who reportedly decreed their permanent residence after being told the bad omen.

- There's a house in Wales that is just 6 feet wide and 10 feet tall. Built in the 16th century, its last resident was a 6-foot-3 fisherman who was forced to move out in 1900 when the local council declared it uninhabitable.
- The world's first color photograph was taken by a Scotsman in 1861. The subject was of a tartan ribbon.
