- The Vatican has no street addresses. All mail is delivered via post office boxes.
- The Vatican has the shortest railway system in the world, a 300-meter spur with one station connecting to Italy's network. It was built for freight but is used for occasional symbolic passenger trips.
- The Vatican runs its own pharmacy and supermarket, where residents get duty-free goods, but has no hospitals or maternity wards, and no permanent prison.
