- There's an ice cream shop in Venezuela famous for its roughly 900 unique flavors, including chili, garlic and even beef.
- Angel Falls in Venezuela is the world's tallest uninterrupted waterfall at 3,212 feet. It is so tall that much of the water evaporates or transforms into mist before reaching the ground.
- Venezuela is home to an estimated 30,000 species of plants, with about 38% of them being found only in this country. This includes around 1,500 native orchid species.
- Venezuela's name is widely believed to mean "Little Venice" in Spanish because early explorers saw indigenous homes built on stilts over water, reminding them of Venice, Italy.
- The lightning phenomenon in Venezuela is known as the "everlasting storm" because it produces lightning up to 280 times per hour on about 160 nights a year. It was historically used by sailors as a navigational beacon.
