Ever wonder how many family names there are in the world? We did. So we did some research and found a database claiming to be comprehensive. And it certainly was. When we opened the file, it bogged down our computer so badly that it took a full minute to scroll to the bottom to see the grand total: over 3.3 million!
Here's what we did: We took 3,600 of the most popular family names in the English language and made word search puzzles out of them. These are the puzzles you'll find across these four index pages.
Note that each of the puzzles hides 20 family names. But there's a twist. Only 18 of these 20 names are actually listed. So you're on your own to find the 2 unlisted ones. A full solution is provided if you get stuck.
By the way, we designed these puzzles to be easily read. Both the puzzle grids and word lists are in large 17-point font size. And the puzzle grids, which are 22×20 letters, spans the entire width of the page. This way you won't have to squint.
The puzzles are printer-friendly. As long as your device can open PDF files and your printer is loaded with standard 8.5" × 11" paper, you are all set to start solving. Good luck!
