This word search puzzle is themed. It hides 18 words or phrases which only first appeared in dictionaries in 2002. Our personal favorite is PARTY ANIMAL. But while these search terms are listed, there are 2 additional unlisted search terms for you to find. The solution is provided.
Here are three new entries with definitions and sample sentences. There are seventeen others in the puzzle. Are you familiar with them all?
● BARFLY a person who spends a lot of time in a bar or similar drinking establishment. The saloon was empty except for one barfly who should have been cut off well before last call.
● CASHBACK a rebate, or a small percentage of a purchase, that you get back from a merchant or credit card issuer. The cashback offer stated that customers would receive a rebate check by mail within four weeks from the date of purchase.
● PARTY ANIMAL a highly sociable and energetic person who enjoys going to parties and similar social events. My roommate is a real party animal who comes home at all hours of the night.
