This word search puzzle is themed. It hides 18 words or phrases which only first appeared in dictionaries in 2006. Our personal favorite is POND SCUM. But while these search terms are listed, there are 2 additional unlisted search terms for you to find. The solution is provided.
Here are three new entries with definitions and sample sentences. There are seventeen others in the puzzle. Are you familiar with them all?
● AIR SHOW a public event that showcases aircraft and pilots performing skillful and complex aerial maneuvers collectively known as aerobatics. The kids were captivated by the jets flying in formation at the annual air show by the lake.
● POND SCUM a mass of algae forming a green film on the surface of stagnant water. The campers where discouraged from swimming in the lake because of the unsightly pond scum that clinged near the shore.
● POTATO SKIN an appetizer made from hollowed-out potato halves filled with toppings like bacon, cheddar cheese and green onions. At the racetrack the two men ordered a plate of potato skins, topped with olive oil, salt and pepper.
