New Entries in Year 2007

This word search puzzle is themed. It hides 18 words or phrases which only first appeared in dictionaries in 2007. Our personal favorite is FLIP PHONE. But while these search terms are listed, there are 2 additional unlisted search terms for you to find. The solution is provided.

Here are three new entries with definitions and sample sentences. There are seventeen others in the puzzle. Are you familiar with them all?

EASTER BASKET a symbolic container that blends pre-Christian fertility rituals and Christian theology to represent new life, renewal, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The children raced excitedly towards their brightly colored Easter baskets filled with plastic eggs, candy and toys.

FLIP PHONE a type of compact cell phone with a hinged body that folds shut to become smaller and opens up to reveal the internal display and keypad. Despite the pressure from his peer to upgrade to a modern smartphone, Rex found his old flip phone more than adequate for his needs.

GUTTERMOUTH a person who uses vulgar, offensive, or obscene language, especially during formal social settings when it is most inappropriate. The women dreaded seeing Tracy pull up to PTA meetings because she was such a guttermouth.

The puzzle grid is 22×20 letters and spans the entire page. It is printer-friendly. As long as your computer can open PDF files and your printer is loaded with standard 8.5" × 11" paper, you are all set to start solving.
