Here are three new entries with definitions and sample sentences. There are seventeen others in the puzzle. Are you familiar with them all?
● BLANKIE a transitional object, like a small blanket or stuffed animal, that a young child uses for comfort, security and self-soothing, which helps him adjust to stress and separation anxiety. The toddler clutched his worn-out blue blankie as he settled down to watch Saturday morning cartoons.
● ENERGY BAR a bar-shaped food product designed to boost physical energy, usually containing a mix of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, fortified with vitamins and minerals, to support various nutritional needs and physical activities. The secretary grabbed an energy bar from the lobby vending machine before her long subway ride home.
● PUZZLE BOOK an activity book containing a collection of puzzles, such as crosswords, word searches, and fill-ins, that require skill, ingenuity, or knowledge to solve.
