Here are three new entries with definitions and sample sentences. There are seventeen others in the puzzle. Are you familiar with them all?
● CAN-DO an enthusiastic, confident, and proactive attitude towards tackling challenges and problem solving. The job recruiter told the students his company was looking for people with a strong can-do attitude, those with a willingness to take action rather than complain or give up.
● FLATLINER refers to someone whose heart or brain activity has flatlined, meaning they are clinically dead, as visably shown by a flat line on a hospital monitor. The nurse called the emergency room physician as soon as she entered the hospital room and saw that her patient can become a flatliner.
● REFUNDABLE an item, payment or deposit capable of being returned or repaid so you can get your money back, usually under specific conditions like dissatisfaction or cancellation. She always chose the more expensive fully refundable airline ticket in case her travel plans changed last minute.
