Here are three new entries with definitions and sample sentences. There are seventeen others in the puzzle. Are you familiar with them all?
● BOOT SALE a British term for a popular outdoor market event where people sell their used or unwanted items from the boot (trunk) of their cars. Every Sunday morning the family went to the village boot sale to try and find antiques, vintage clothing, and DVDs.
● DWARF PLANET a celestial body that orbits a star and is massive enough to be nearly round in shape, but not enough gavitational strength to clear its orbital neighborhood of other objects of similar size. Pluto is now considered a dwarf planet because it shares its orbital path with many other icy objects.
● FUDGSICLE a popular brand of chocolate-flavored frozen treat on a stick, known for its creamy, fudge-like texture, made from a blend of cocoa, sugar, milk and thickened with cornstarch. The kids marched into the kitchen asking for a fudgsicle right after they finished their household chores.
