● BODY SLAM originally a move in professional wrestling where a wrestler lifts his opponent off the ground and forcefully slams him back down onto the mat on his back, now used metaphorically to refer to a powerful, decisive blow, action, or argument that completely overwhelms and defeats an opponent in politics, debates or business. Even those in the opposing party believed he delivered a body slam to the front-runner candidate when the subject of immigration came up in the debate.
