Dictionary Word Search 9

New Entries in Year 2001

This word search puzzle is themed. It hides 18 words or phrases which only first appeared in dictionaries in 2001. Our personal favorite is MEAT BAG. But while these search terms are listed, there are 2 additional unlisted search terms for you to find. The solution is provided.

Here are three new entries with definitions and sample sentences. There are seventeen others in the puzzle. Are you familiar with them all?

MATERIAL GIRL a person, typically a woman, who highly values wealth, luxury items and material possessions over intellectual or spiritual pursuits. Daisy was a classic material girl who only cared about acquiring diamonds, furs and other luxury goods.

ME GENERATION a term referring to Baby Boomers who came of age in the 1970s and who were seen as preoccupied with individualism, personal fulfillment and material gain. The 1970s are often called the Me Generation because of the cultural shift towards narcissist self-fulfillment, which stands in stark contrast to the more socially-conscious 1960s.

MEAT BAG a derogatory term used to describe humans or other biological beings in science fiction and fantasy. The robot had much disdain for his human owners, privately thinking of them as messy and inefficient meat bags.

The puzzle grid is 22×20 letters and spans the entire page. It is printer-friendly. As long as your computer can open PDF files and your printer is loaded with standard 8.5" × 11" paper, you are all set to start solving.
