• Nixon was an avid bowler who built a one-lane bowling alley in the White House basement. He reportedly had a high score of 232.
• Carter was an accomplished woodworker who built most of his family's furniture by hand. While living in the White House, he utilized the carpentry shop at Camp David to make small gifts for friends.
• Reagan worked as a lifeguard in his youth from 1927 to 1934. He is said to have saved 77 swimmers from drowning.
• Clinton famously muscled his way to the front of the line to shake hands with President John F. Kennedy in 1963 as a high school student.
• Bush (Junior) is an avid painter who has an acclaimed series of portraits of U.S. military verterans. It honors service members injured in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
• Obama collects Spider-Man (his favorite) and Conan the Barbarian comics. Marvel featured him on a special variant cover of a comic book released in 2009 just before his first inauguration.
• Biden had a severe childhood stutter which he overcame through diligent practice and by reciting the poetry of Yeats and Emerson in front of a mirror with a flashlight
• Trump is a lifelong teetotaler who has never drunk alcohol, a choice he attributes to witnessing his older brother's alcoholism. That also goes for other drugs and cigarettes. But Trump has long identified himself as a germaphobe who prefers not to shake hands with anyone.
