We recently wondered how many first names there are in the world. Our initial guess was a few thousand. But when thinking about all the different languages in the world, combined with spelling variations, our estimate increased to twenty thousand. So we were rather shocked when we did some research and found a database containing over 1.5 million first names!
Here's what we did: We took about 2,000 of the most popular first names in the English language and made word search puzzles out of them. These are the puzzles you'll find across these two index pages.
Note that each of the puzzles hides 20 first names. But there's a twist. Only 18 of these 20 names are actually listed. So you're on your own to find the 2 unlisted ones. A full solution is provided if you get stuck.
By the way, we designed these puzzles to be easily read. Both the puzzle grids and word lists are in large 17-point font size. And the puzzle grids, which are 22×20 letters, spans the entire width of the page. This way you won't have to squint.
The puzzles are printer-friendly. As long as your device can open PDF files and your printer is loaded with standard 8.5" × 11" paper, you are all set to start solving. Good luck!
