Did you ever wonder how many countries there are in the world? Well, it depends on who you ask. Some international organizations give one number, some another. That's because there isn't a universally agreed-upon definition of a country or state. Plus, existing countries split into newer, smaller countries nearly every year due to things like war. But the number usually hovers between 195 and 200.

Here's what we did: We first settled on a number of countries, about 200. We then did a little research to come up with a list of words and phrases for each of these countries. Finally, we used these lists to make fun word search puzzles. These are the puzzles you'll find on this, and the next two, index pages.

Note that each of the puzzles hides 20 words and phrases associated with a particular country of the world. But there's a twist. Only 18 of these 20 words are actually listed. So you're on your own to find the 2 unlisted ones. A full solution is provided if you get stuck.

The puzzles are printer-friendly. As long as your device can open PDF files and your printer is loaded with standard 8.5" × 11" paper, you are all set to start solving. Good luck!
